Letter: Deregulation
To the editor:
Ben Bernanke recently said legislation to loosen oversight of the banking industry amounted to “shutting down the fire department to encourage fire safety.”
It’s an apt characterization of the irresponsible “deregulation” that political manipulators like to tell us is “freedom.” The Kansas Legislature’s pandering deregulation of “gun rights” is a good example.
