Letter: Fishy focus

To the editor:

Our state has a projected $1 billion revenue shortfall over the next two years. As a result, our legislators are cutting funding for public schools and universities and making cuts to Medicaid, the public employees retirement system, department of transportation and programs that support the disabled. And now they’re spending their time on a bill to designate the channel catfish as a state symbol? (Feb. 23, “Nothing says Kansas quite like catfish?”)  REALLY? I think we may have an answer to the question “What’s the matter with Kansas?”
