Brandon Rush an NBA champ

Brandon Rush of the Golden State Warriors joins Clyde Lovellette and Mario Chalmers as former Kansas University basketball players to win both an NCAA title and NBA title. Chalmers, who started with Rush on KU’s 2008 NCAA title team, won crowns with Miami in 2012 and 2014. Lovellete, a 1952 champ at KU, won three NBA crowns with Minneapolis (1954) and Boston (1963, 64).

Rush is the 11th Jayhawk to win an NBA title. Others: Chalmers, Lovellette, Maurice King, Wilt Chamberlain, Jo Jo White, Bill Bridges, Wayne Simien, Jacque Vaughn, Paul Pierce, Scot Pollard. Rush scored 30 points and had 12 assists total in 33 games for Golden State this past season. He hit 11 of 54 shots for 20.4 percent. He played seven minutes total in three playoff games this postseason, scoring three points off 1-of-6 shooting.
