Letter: Paid to fight?

To the editor:

When the state government cannot get its work done in time, why should they get rewarded for it? In most businesses, the employer either docks them for it, fires them or makes them pay fines or a penalty for not meeting a deadline as in construction. 

Should these government employees get paid more for fighting? Isn’t this a conflict of interest? The more they fight, the more they get paid. This is not the way to lower our taxes or the state budget. It’s a shame the way this debt is piling up.
