Letter: ‘Green’ option

Lawrence continues to “go green” and many people in Lawrence recycle. I read there is a need for a new police station. Why not consider recycling the Furniture Mall of Kansas at Iowa and 25th streets?
The building is huge, parking is available, and a bus stop is there. It is a centralized location, with easy access to all of the major arteries in town (23rd Street, Iowa Street, K-10 and I-70, among others).
Let’s re-use this building, retrofit it to accommodate the needs of the station, and we will continue to “go green.” This could easily be a win-win for everyone!
