Letter: Pavilion benefit
To the editor:
We used to drive our daughter to Topeka for volleyball tournaments and practice, for lack of facilities in Lawrence. Now, in reverse, we recently had a family from Topeka, in town for a volleyball tournament at Sports Pavilion Lawrence, purchase a used car from our car business.
They paid sales tax in Douglas County and Lawrence instead of Topeka, and the sales tax on automobiles is usually a pretty big number.
I think this scenario has been and will be repeated many, many times over in nearly all businesses for the benefit of all in Lawrence.
