Letter: Secret process

To the editor:

The Journal-World’s editorial from Feb. 1 (“Closed again”) underscores a continuous flaw with Gov. Brownback and his administration. Last year, I delivered testimony in support of changing the Court of Appeals selection process. One of the primary reasons I supported — and still support — this change is the increased transparency it brings to the process.

Unfortunately, Brownback has perverted this process by cloaking it in secrecy. The reality is the governor has become the worst advocate for this change. This administration has done enough damage with bad policies. Now they are determined to ruin good ones as well.
