To the editor:

I have sworn off Chris Condren of Oklahoma City (“Football waste,” Public Forum, Sept. 16). Mr. Condren claims he will always be a Jayhawk. That’s not true. He is a fair weather Jayhawk. He’s never been a Jayhawk by definition. When things are good, no one’s more supportive; when they’re not, they can’t be found! Makes me wonder if he swears off his wife every time he hits a bad spot in his marriage.

Are the players, coaches and the program putting out an inferior product? Absolutely. Will Coach Weis continue as coach next year? Probably not. Time will tell.

The most important thing anyone could tell Mr. Condren is: Don’t bother to come back to “my” university — even after things make a turn for the better. Kansas University doesn’t need fair weather support. It needs support it can count on.
