Lions volleyball goes 2-1 at quad

? Lawrence High’s volleyball team won two of three matches Tuesday at Washburn Rural.

The Lions defeated Topeka High, 25-22, 25-15, and Rossville, 28-26, 25-15, and fell to Washburn Rural, 25-16, 25-21.

The Lions were led by Keeli Billings with 12 kills and 17 digs, Jensen Edwards with 11 kills, Caroline Dykes with 24 kills, Marlee Bird with 19 assists and eight service aces, Laurel Bird with 14 assists and nine service aces, Nicole Owens with 15 digs and Katie Murrish with 12 digs.

The Lions improved to 4-7.

“They did a great job today,” LHS coach Stephanie Magnuson said. “They’re progressing like we want them to do.”
