Man on bicycle struck by car at intersection of 19th and Louisiana streets

A man was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital Monday after being struck by a vehicle while he was riding his bicycle at the intersection of Louisiana and 19th streets.

The man was riding on 19th Street when a woman driving a Chrysler 300 struck him in the crosswalk, Sgt. Anthony Brixius of the Lawrence Police Department said.

The man showed no visible signs of injury but remained in the middle of 19th Street for about 10 minutes until first responders loaded him into an ambulance, Brixius said.

The driver’s and victim’s names were not immediately available.
