Letter: Have at it

To the editor:

Is the Brownback administration correct in assuming that you can fool most of the people most of the time? It seems so, according to the results of the 2014 election. It also seems to correctly assume that Kansas voters are disinterested in politics, undereducated, lazy,or just plain stupid. The results also seem to verify that conclusion.

So, in the future, may we assume that Kansas can be counted upon to remain almost always in the Republican column? Will they continue to vote in the self-serving, greedy, mean and, at times, downright evil servants of a wealthy behind-the-scenes oligarchy? That answer seems to also be yes. Will four more years of lies, broken promises, raised interest rates and underfunding of K-12 education, union-busting and denial of basic voting rights be dark enough to get Kansas voters attention? Probably not!

So, Mr. Brownback, give em hell as they have begged for it. Now pull out all the stops and really work them over, including of course KanCare and the state retirement funds. By the way, privatize everything you can and hand it out to Republican colleagues on a for-profit basis. Also pay no mind to the giant deficits and state of bankruptcy you will leave behind you when you get invited to run on the national Republican ticket in 2016.  The tea party is going to love you!
