Up and down temps

Enjoy alt country at its finest with self-proclaimed “gypsy at heart” Lucinda Williams. Williams will play songs from her latest album, the critically acclaimed “Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone.”The singer-songwriter’s show opens its doors at 7 p.m. Friday and the show starts at 8 p.m. at Liberty Hall, 644 Massachusetts St. Tickets range from $29.50 to $35.50.

Dance beyond words

The AIM Dance Company of Point B Dance takes a journey “Beyond Words” with their performance at the Lawrence Arts Center. The company will present three new works that touch upon addiction, persecution and temptation. AIM Dance Company’s presentation of “Beyond Words” is at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Lawrence Arts Center, 940 New Hampshire St. General admission tickets are $12.

Loneliness takes the stage

Catch the last weekend of Edward Gant’s Amazing Feats of Loneliness, and marvel at the lengths people will go to to find love and happiness. The Victorian freak-show inspired stage show is a co-production between Card Table Theatre and the Lawrence Arts Center, and the first ever in LAC Downtown Underground series! The show starts at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Lawrence Arts Center, 940 New Hampshire St. Tickets range from $10 to $15.

Running shoes on the ground

The KU Veterans Day 5k/10k Run to benefit KU’s Wounded Warrior Scholarship fund is scheduled for 9 a.m. Sunday at Memorial Stadium, 11th and Maine streets, where the course starts and ends. The route takes runners past the five Veterans Memorials on campus as well as Pioneer Cemetery.
