A 34-year-old Lawrence man pleaded no contest to criminal trespassing and theft in connection with a break-in earlier this year at Sandbar Sub Shop, 745 New Hampshire St.

Matthew C. Reynard was found guilty Thursday and sentenced by District Judge Michael Malone to 12 months probation. He was first charged with aggravated burglary before a plea agreement produced a lesser charge.

Lawrence police found Reynard inside the shop late Jan. 22. They said he had a backpack containing various electronics and checks from the business.
