A Douglas County District Judge found a 25-year-old Lawrence man guilty of two counts of marijuana distribution after a plea hearing on Friday.

Jacob Lee Gillihan pleaded no contest to both counts as part of a plea agreement in which both sides recommended a sentence of 28 total months, presumably in prison. After hearing Gillihan’s plea and the facts of the case, District Judge Paula Martin found him guilty and set sentencing for April 24.

Gillihan was arrested in December at his home after an investigation by the Lawrence-Douglas County Drug Enforcement Unit earlier that year. According to Assistant District Attorney Deborah Moody, the unit and a confidential informant staged two purchases of marijuana at Gillihan’s home.

Gillihan is free on a $10,000 bond. Depending on his criminal history, Gillihan faces up to 51 months for each count if convicted.
