Lawrence man arrested on suspicion of felony drug charges

A 25-year-old Lawrence man was booked into Douglas County Jail and later released on a $10,000 bond Wednesday after an arrest on suspicion of felony drug charges.

Lawrence police arrested Jacob Lee Gillihan at his residence in the 3000 block of Atchison Way. He is suspected of felony possession of a controlled substance, felony possession of drug paraphernalia and felony cultivation or distribution of a controlled substance related to offenses alleged to have occurred on Jan. 10 or Feb. 14.

Gillihan also faces charges of sale or purchase of drugs using a communication device, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal possession of a firearm and not purchasing a tax stamp for drug distribution.

A civil asset forfeiture notice published July 31 stated that the Lawrence Douglas County Drug Enforcement Unit had seized from Gillihan $17,023 and more than 721 grams of marijuana.
