Letter: Survey courtesy

To the editor:

How many of you got the 2014 Republican Platform Survey? It is “registered” and complete with dictatorial instructions that one is to return it to them as it “must be accounted for during tabulation.” “DO NOT DESTROY” is printed in red ink. The envelope provided by the RNC is oversized but still too small to contain their precious document numbered out to eight decimal points. Who is responsible for measuring the envelope and enclosure? Has anyone taught them to read a ruler? How did they find the courage to trust such a precious document to the snail mail that the GOP is working so hard to destroy?

It is highly repellent that RNC, representational agent of corporate interests, could not provide prepaid return envelopes for documents numbered out to eight decimal points. Were their mothers remiss in imparting common courtesy? One does not send an unrequested item that one demands the return of without paying transportation both ways. That is considered to be rude. I know for a fact that the Democrats know better. I received their platform survey a few days later — with a postage-paid return envelope.

RNC is not really interested in registered GOP voter opinions as the questions on the “survey” read as if they were composed by the emotionally histrionic infotainers of Fox News. It appears that RNC simply wants Fox News viewers to feel important as they regurgitate what they have been spoon-fed.
