Krom 5th, LHS bowling teams last at O-South

— Lawrence High bowler Miranda Krom placed fifth among varsity girls with a three-game series of 552 on Thursday at the Olathe South quadrangular.

The LHS girls team scored 2008 pins and the boys totalled 2328, landing both Lions squads in last place at the quad. Olathe South won the girls competition with 2193 pins, and Olathe East was the top boys team with 2679. Shawnee Mission North also competed.

Montez Sanchez bowled the high series for the LHS boys with a 595, including one game of 264.

Lawrence High coach Paula Bastemeyer called the team lineups “the toughest we have seen this season.”

Bastemeyer noted that one Olathe East boy bowled a perfect game, while another rolled a 299.

The Lions will compete again Tuesday at Topeka Seaman.
