Letter: Bitter view

To the editor:

We don’t know why we even bother to read Carl Burkhead’s letters (“Sinful lifestyle, Feb. 14). They make us sick. They are always the same repetitive collection of hateful, illogical and absurd assumptions. One “reason” against gay rights is that they can’t procreate. What’s the problem? There are plenty of people in this world procreating; the world certainly isn’t running short of people.

He criticizes gay people adopting children. Last we looked there were nearly a half million children living in foster homes awaiting adoption that certainly would be better off adopted by caring and nurturing gay parents. And how did he get the idea all gay people have AIDS and need expensive medical treatment? And how have societies who have accepted gays been eventually destroyed from within?

Many scientist believe through research that  homosexuality is the result of epigenetic markers passed on, therefore inherited, and making them God’s creation. His last statement is that God’s message is one of love, which is true, and therefore he is contradicting himself and “not” embracing the message of God. The world would be better off without the bitter opinions from Carl Burkhead and the Phelps family!
