The Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education recently gave the School of Pharmacy at Kansas University an eight-year accreditation term, the longest term a school can receive before undergoing another evaluation.

In October, the evaluation team, comprised of pharmacy faculty and administrators at schools throughout the country, visited the school’s main campus in Lawrence, as well as the campuses in Wichita and Kansas City.

Before setting an accreditation term, evaluators also read through a 1,100-page report compiled by the school’s self-study team that included a look at the curriculum, student services, faculty and staff performance and an analysis of the school’s mission.

In their review, ACPE evaluators noted that the school had excellent facilities, high-quality academic programs and strong leadership.

This was the school’s first ACPE review since opening its Wichita campus and increasing its class size from 105 to 170 students in 2011. The next review will be conducted in 2022.
