Letter: Academic principles

To the editor:

As a graduate of Kansas University and the master’s program at the New York University graduate school of business administration (1958), I applaud Kent McCarthy’s Dec. 8 column, “Diversity benefits higher education,” “for the principle of free and open academic inquiry.”

That should take care of exposure of hidden agendas. In the words of an old Phil Harris song, “The Preacher and the Bear,” “Go it preacher; go it bear.”
