Letter: Safe sledding
To the editor:
Since it is getting colder, it is time to think about winter activities. There should be a safe place to sled, ski and snowboard in Lawrence. Many kids like to sled down Lawrence’s hilly streets, but that is not entirely safe and it seems like the streets get plowed quickly before we get a chance to sled.
Also, the few places with a steep slope have dangerous objects in the way such as trees, lamp posts, and other people walking. Every year I hear about someone getting injured from sledding, but a designated sledding park would make it more safe. I don’t want any kids to get hurt sledding, so let’s build a sledding park.
