Kansas University basketball forward Jamari Traylor and KU football wide receiver Rodriguez Coleman were arrested Sunday morning, KU officials confirmed.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office booking report, Coleman was arrested on a charge of battery at 1:52 a.m. at 1200 Oread Avenue, which is the location of the Oread Hotel and The Cave nightclub.

Traylor was arrested at the same location at 2:17 a.m. on a charge of interfering with duties of an officer. Both Coleman and Traylor had posted $100 bond by 4:18 a.m.

“We know about it. We are aware of it. We are gathering facts and will deal with it internally,” KU associate AD Jim Marchiony said Sunday morning.

“We were made aware of the situation concerning Jamari late last night. We have been gathering information all morning and will continue to do that,” KU men’s basketball coach Bill Self said. “This will certainly be addressed and handled as we receive complete information.”

New KU football coach David Beaty released a statement on Coleman’s arrest a little after 7 p.m. Sunday evening.

“The situation concerning (Coleman) was brought to our attention in the early morning hours. We are in the fact gathering process at this time and will handle this matter internally.”

The report also lists the arrest of former KU football cornerback Kevin Short for failure to appear in municipal court, at 2:44 a.m., also at 1200 Oread Avenue. Short posted $210 bond at 4:20 a.m.
