Today in Lawrence: Heat, art and City Commission

Don't miss the exhibit Tall

Heated forecast

The clouds might help our situation a little, but not much: Expect more hot weather tomorrow, with a high of 94 and a few clouds here and there. The low will be 73 under clear skies. The highs are going to continue to creep up as the week goes on, with full-on sun and 97 degrees for Thursday and Friday. Maybe it’s time for your own ALS Ice Bucket Challenge video?

Time’s almost up

Don’t miss the exhibit “Tall grass. Deep water.” at the Lawrence Arts Center. The exhibit, which runs through Saturday, features the work of artists Chris Wolf Edmonds and Pam Sullivan. Edmonds and Sullivan share a love of nature and creative visual poetry through color, texture, fabric, stitching, paint, and print. This exhibition features the newest fiber works from both artists and a variety of techniques and mediums. The Lawrence Arts Center is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at 940 New Hampshire St.

Democracy in action

What is your city government up to? The best way to find out is to see it as it happens. Be a part of the process, and you might even enjoy yourself! Take a quick peek at the agend and plan to attend the Lawrence City Commission meeting at 6:35 p.m. at City Hall, 6 E. Sixth St.
