Olathe ? Tanna Fanshier and Maren Kahler scored goals, and Free State High’s soccer team defeated Olathe Northwest, 2-1, on Thursday night.

Hayden Hutchison had an assist on Kahler’s goal, and goalkeeper Annie Hierl allowed just one goal.

“Our passing was crisp,” FSHS coach Kelly Barah said. “We had a couple more chances we could have finished on, but we’ll take the win. I’m really excited about the direction we’re going.”

The Firebirds (4-2) will host Shawnee Mission Northwest on Tuesday.
