The gubernatorial election is more than a year away, but the race for campaign dollars has begun in earnest.

The Republican Party's 2012 vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan will headline two high-dollar events Wednesday for Gov. Sam Brownback's re-election campaign and the Kansas Republican Party.

One will be held at The Petroleum Club in Wichita and the other at a private residence in Mission Hills.

Each of the events will feature, $15,000, $10,000, $5,000 and $2,000 levels of support.

For $15,000, the donor gains admittance with 3 guests to a VIP reception and executive roundtable with Ryan and Brownback.

Ryan, a U.S. House member from Wisconsin, worked as an aide to Brownback when Brownback was a U.S. senator.

Great Choice! Ryan's Political/Ideological beliefs helped the GOP lose the Last Presidential election and similar ideology lost the one before that. Last time I checked, He hadn't changed his position on Any issues and those issues cost him and Mitt Romney the Election. So Again, Great Choice Governor! Great Choice!

Next in line will be Scott Walker and we can then complete the trifecta of bad politics.

Totally agree. See the prophet Amos (8: 4-7).

Dust off your copies of "Atlas Shrugged".

What a maroon. Remember, Romney/Ryan were going to win in a landslide.

They did, in Kansas

Romney/Ryan 59% Obama/Biden 38%

63BC 1 year, 10 months ago

Brownback 63% Holland 32%

THAT'S a landslide

jafs 1 year, 10 months ago

Not in my world.

Landslide should be used for extremely large margins of victory, like 90/10.

Also, you should remember that about 50% of the KS electorate didn't vote in the last election for governor. So, Brownback was elected by about 1/3 of KS voters.

A meaningful "landslide" would be one in which the vast majority of voters actually vote, and the victor wins by large margins.

Really? Bush declared 51%/49% a mandate!

A 59/38 landslide among less than 1% of the American population. Impressive.

What this indicates is there will tons of campaign dollars coming in from around the USA by way of many Right Wing money laundering devices. Yes Koch and Wal-Mart money will be in the mix.

BTW Paul Ryan has been quietly busy securing Obamacare dollars for Wisconsin. He is definitely a member of the ALEC Right Wing Party. He like Brownback is no republican.

BTW the Kansas Club for Growth is noting more than a PAC for the ALEC Right Wing Party as is the Chamber of Commerce. Club for Growth was originated by way of a former Brownback staff person.

All 4 of the KS GOP house members supported and voted for the Ryan Budget

Paul Ryan House Republican Budget Plan Destroys Medicare and Makes Health Care Unaffordable for Beneficiaries

The House Republican Budget Plan Destroys Medicare and Makes Health Care Unaffordable for Beneficiaries

The House Budget Resolution for Fiscal Year 2014, H. Con. Res. 25, was introduced by Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan and passed by the House of Representatives on March 21, 2013. It would end traditional Medicare, make it harder for seniors to choose their own doctors, and increase health care costs for both current and future retirees. Chairman Ryan's plan privatizes Medicare and achieves savings for the federal government by shifting costs to Medicare beneficiaries.

The fact that Paul Ryan, elitist and trckle-down believer, is here to support Sam sends this terrifying message:

Brownback is still a true believer in empowering the rich and the philosophy of the extreme right wingnuts, and has paid absolutely no attention to the thousands of Kansans who disagree with him.

God help us.

You'd have to pay ME $15,000 to attend and even then it would require about 15 gin and tonics before I'd be able to force myself to sit at a table with those two morons.

Why no article on how much the donation requirements are for Sebelius fundraisers in Mission Hills?

IndusRiver 1 year, 10 months ago

The success of Kathleen Sebelius was always her focus on the job. She gets money because people applaud her name, not curse it like the Brownback name.

Panjandrum Sammie Brownback.

That's my FREE SPEECH. See how long it lasts now.

It has just occurred to me that I have been a faithful follower of the Ten Commandments my whole life. It hasn't sunk in, yet.
