To the editor:

The tradition of celebrating Constitution Week was started in 1955 by the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Constitution Week is commemorated every Sept. 17-23. The Betty Washington Chapter of Douglas County urges you to learn about the historical events surrounding the creation of the Constitution and the men who framed the document that became the legal foundation of our country. This year is the 58th anniversary of Constitution Week. Let us all do our part in reminding America that the Constitution is a living document that guarantees the freedoms Americans enjoy.
