Letter: Brush too broad
To the editor:
Craig Voorhees (Public Forum, Sept. 13) paints with too wide a brush. His upbringing may have been difficult, but not all fundamentalist Christians are bad, as all Muslims are not bad, as all Catholics are not bad, etc.
Carl Burkhead (Public Forum, Sept. 11) said nothing “hateful.” He disagrees with the gay lifestyle. He backs it up with quotes from the Bible. It is his right of free speech to do so.
There is a growing element in this country that claims “hate” whenever it hears something it doesn’t like. This is becoming a very serious problem, and should prompt immediate and open discussion in all communities of this country.
