To the editor:

Is there a single existing social program for needy families and especially children living in poverty that Sam Brownback does not hate? He seems relentless in starving them of funds and sending the message that they are not worthy of help.

Worse, this Republican Legislature is a virtual rubber stamp for everything he proposes. What have these poor done that deserve such hatred and wrath from our elected officials? For shame. He cloaks this in proposals that are mostly underfunded and designed primarily to drain these social funds completely. Is the message “Get out of Kansas” or just “Drop Dead”? Brownback is an embarrassment to our state. He has gone beyond the lines of compassion and decency.
