Letter: Failed system
To the editor:
I have followed Prof. Guth’s rant and rave against the National Rifle Association with interest. Prof. Guth, the NRA did not approve the gun application for purchase; the government did!
If information concerning the Navy Yard killer’s mental state was entered into the National Drive Information Center system by the Navy, police department and health care programs, like it should be been, his application for gun purchase would have been disapproved. Seems like everyone failed to do their jobs.
