KU Public Safety Office seeking suspect in aggravated burglary of residence hall

The Kansas University Public Safety Office is looking for information about the identity of a suspect involved in a Wednesday morning aggravated burglary of an unlocked residence hall room.

In a crime alert released Thursday afternoon, the office reported that between 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, an unknown person entered an unlocked residence hall room and took a laptop computer while one of the room’s residents was present and asleep.

KU Public Safety is asking anyone with information about the suspect’s identity to call Crime Stoppers at 785-864-8888 or the KU Public Safety Office at 785-864-5900. Also on Thursday, KU Public Safety reminded students to lock the doors to their rooms, report any unusual people or activities and to record the serial numbers for all electronic devices.
