Honor society holds monthlong professional clothing drive for Kansas University students

A Kansas University honor society is holding its annual professional clothing drive throughout November. The donated clothing will go to students who need the attire for interviews, career fairs and the workplace.

The clothing will stock the Professional Clothing Closet, a resource run by the Delta Epsilon Iota honor society. The closet is at the University Career Center in the Burge Union, 1601 Irving Hill Rd.

The clothing is offered year around at no cost to students.

The honor society is seeking donations of the following: full suits, blazers, shirts to wear underneath a suit coat, women’s dress slacks, darkly colored skirts, ties, briefcases, portfolios and closed-toe dress shoes.

Donations may dropped off at the following locations: Professional Clothing Closet in Burge Union; Business Career Services Center in Summerfield Hall, 1300 Summerfield Dr.; Journalism Career Center in Stauffer-Flint Hall, 1435 Jayhawk Blvd.; Engineering Career Center in Eaton Hall, 1520 W. 15th St., and at KU Edwards Campus.

In 2012, the Professional Clothing Closet received more than 500 acceptable donations, and students took more than 450 items.
