More high school sporting events postponed Friday

Boys tennis regional tournaments were just some of the Friday high school sporting events called off due to the ongoing cold and wet spring weather in northeast Kansas.

Both Lawrence High and Free State’s tennis players were scheduled to compete for spots at next week’s state tournament at a Class 6A regional at Gardner-Edgerton, but the tournament has been postponed until Monday at 9:30 a.m.

Bishop Seabury Academy tennis is hosting a 3-2-1A regional at Jayhawk Tennis Center, and that, too, was pushed back to Monday morning at 9:30.

The track teams at Lawrence and Free State were slated to compete at the Shawnee Mission North Relays on Friday, but the meet has been canceled, with no reschedule date planned.

Friday night’s FSHS girls soccer game at Gardner-Edgerton was cancelled and will not be rescheduled.

The Lawrence JV baseball games scheduled for today against Shawnee Mission North have been canceled with no reschedule date at this time.

FSHS also called off C-team soccer and softball games for Friday afternoon.
