FSHS swims to first at Emporia Invitational; LHS sixth

— Free State High’s girls swimming and diving team collected 481 points on its way to a first-place finish Thursday at the Emporia Invitational.

Lawrence High was sixth with 236 points in the eight-team meet.

The Firebirds’ Courtney Caldwell (200 IM, 100 back), Cierra Campbell (200 free, 500 free) and Kat LaFever (100 breast) all won individual events, and the three combined with Morgan Miller to take the top time in the 200 medley relay.

Heather Cistola, in the 100 fly, was the lone champion for the Lions.
