Lions’ Jake Mosiman second-teamer

No city players made the cut this season for the Sunflower League’s five-player boys basketball first team, but six were recognized by the league’s coaches with postseason honors.

Lawrence High senior guard Jake Mosiman earned the top spot among city players as a second-team honoree.

His teammate Justin Roberts, a point guard who was named freshman of the year for 2012-13, and Free State junior forward Khadre Lane both received third-team nods.

Receiving honorable mention among city players were LHS sophomore guard Anthony Bonner, and from Free State, junior forward Cole Moreano and senior forward Cody Scott.

Shawnee Mission East senior Zach Schneider was named player of the year, and Shawnee Mission Northwest coach Mike Rose was coach of the year. First-team selection Dainan Swoope, of league champion and Class 5A state champion Shawnee Mission South, was chosen as sophomore of the year.
