Letter: Voices muted

To the editor:

Apparently the democratic voice of the people is being systematically muted in Lawrence and at Kansas University.  No vote on the rec center by the residents of the city, no vote on the Core Curriculum by the KU faculty. The latter is a public relations project of the KU administration, a glossy booklet with high-sounding talk of goals and outcomes, which can be reached by the undergraduates who complete the required courses with a grade of D!  So much for quality.
