To the editor:

Can we really afford the Rock Chalk rec center?  We are paying for a multimillion-dollar library and garage and are having trouble funding our children’s education. Their education should be our priority. They are our future and our greatest resource.

Did we think of the YMCA or the YWCA or the Parks and Rec facilities? Are we going to have the fitness centers close? Why don’t developers pay their back taxes? What makes them think they can dupe us into such a “deal”? Do we get to vote on this? I surely hope so.

How many senior citizens do you think you will attract living here with all these extra taxes, not considering the Eagle Bend Golf Course? Please vote “no” on this rec center if we even get a choice to vote on it.
