Portion of Massachusetts Street to be closed to southbound motorists this week
Massachusetts Street between Eighth and Ninth streets will be closed to southbound traffic for much of the week.
City utility crews are shutting down the southbound lane of traffic to install several new water lines to serve buildings on the block.
The lane will be closed to traffic from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Traffic will be allowed on the streets during the evening and overnight. Work is expected to impact traffic through Friday.
City officials have a marked a detour that directs southbound traffic to nearby Vermont Street.
