19-year-old Lawrence man charged in March robbery

A 19-year-old Lawrence man has been arrested and charged in connection with the March 7 robbery of a pedestrian at gunpoint.

Caleb Christopher Mar Sheridan originally was arrested along with two juveniles on March 8 after a pedestrian reported being robbed at gunpoint on Rhode Island Street. Later that month, prosecutors dropped the case against Sheridan but returned to file charges against him in April.

Sheridan was arrested by Lawrence police Wednesday and appeared in Douglas County District Court Thursday, charged with aggravated robbery, conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery, defacing the identification marks on a firearm and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.

The two juveniles are also charged in the case.

The victim told officers that one of the men pointed a black handgun at him and demanded cash, which he surrendered.

When Sheridan was arrested about five hours later, officers seized a loaded handgun they believed was used in the robbery, as well as additional ammunition and marijuana.

Sheridan was in Douglas County Jail today with bond set at $25,000. He is scheduled to appear in court again on Thursday. The names of the two juveniles charged in the case have not been made public because of their ages.
