Harmon-Thomas 16th in World Youth heptathlon

Free State High senior Alexa Harmon-Thomas finished 16th out of 39 international competitors in the girls heptathlon this past weekend at the IAAF World Youth Championships, in Donetsk, Ukraine.

Representing USA Track and Field, Harmon-Thomas totaled 5,200 points compared to the 5,747 of champion Celina Leffler, of Germany.

Harmon-Thomas had finishes of 14.08 seconds in 100-meter hurdles, 1.75 meters (5 feet, 8.75 inches) in high jump, 10.44 m (34-3) in shot put, 25.58 seconds in the 200, 5.87 m (19-3.25) in long jump, 21.58 m (70-9) in the javelin and 2:21.99 in the 800.
