A 25-year-old Lawrence man was arrested on suspicion of theft and computer crimes Tuesday, after a Lawrence Sprint retailer reported more than $5,000 worth of phones and other products had been stolen by an employee.

Jerrin Keith Thompson was arrested at Sprint Store by Wireless, 2108 W. 27th St., where police allege he stole phones from Dec. 26 to Jan. 23. Thompson was booked into Douglas County Jail about 12:45 p.m. Tuesday and released on a $3,000 bond.

On Wednesday, staff at the store said Thompson no longer was employed there.

Maybe that explains some of the ongoing problems I have had with that store. Word of warning - it is a "3rd party store" and Sprint will not honor returns at other stores.

No, it is not a 3rd party store; it is the only authorized Sprint retailer here in town.
