The National Weather Service has cancelled the Winter Weather Advisory for Douglas and surrounding counties.

8 a.m. update

The National Weather Service has extended a Winter Weather Advisory for Douglas County until noon Wednesday.

The advisory warns of one to four inches of snow and ice accumulation, with wind speeds up to 35 miles per hour, all of which will affect driving visibility.

Other area counties, such as Shawnee, Jefferson, Leavenworth and Johnson, are all also under similar warnings.
