KU chancellor mourns Jan. 4 death of student

Kansas University on Thursday released a statement from Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little mourning the death of a KU junior who died earlier this month. Raphael “Rafe” Biltz, a junior from Mulvane, died Jan. 4.

“Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Rafe Biltz in this time of grief,” Gray-Little said. “I offer the deepest condolences on behalf of Jayhawk nation.”

Biltz was 23, according to a Wichita Eagle obituary. He was studying film and media studies in KU’s School of the Arts, and he was also minoring in English.
