Letter: Schools, courts

To the editor:

The unconstitutional funding of Kansas public schools is exactly why Gov. Brownback is trying to change the process of nominating judges. King Sam wants judges who will genuflect at his altar. The drastic income tax cuts he signed into law will hinder considerably the ability of the Legislature to fund our schools properly and legally. You can be sure this decision will be appealed so Kansas citizens must be vigilant in opposing Brownback’s efforts to keep schools underfunded. Keep in mind these words by Plato: “The punishment of wise men who refuse to take part in the affairs of government is to live under the government of unwise men.”
