Lawrence man arrested for rape, indecent liberties with a child
A 41-year-old Lawrence man was arrested Monday on suspicion of several sex crimes involving a juvenile, including several counts of rape, aggravated indecent liberties with a child and aggravated criminal sodomy.
The victim is a female who is younger than 14, said Sgt. Trent McKinley, a Lawrence Police Department spokesman. Police are not releasing other details.
The crimes were reported to police Monday, McKinley said, and the man was arrested at the police department’s offices in the 4800 block of Bob Billings Parkway. He is being held in the Douglas County Jail without bond.
The Journal-World does not typically name sex-crime suspects unless they’re convicted.
