• Cynthia Lewis has been named chief executive officer of Visiting Nurses Association, replacing Judy Bellome, who is retiring. Lewis has worked for 22 years in behavioral health, inpatient, home health and hospice care.

In 2008, she joined Visiting Nurses as a quality and compliance manager. She was promoted in 2012 to chief operating officer. She is a member of the 2013 Leadership Lawrence class and Lawrence Rotary, and is a friend of Breakfast Optimists. She holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Kansas University.

Bellome will be honored at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at a retirement reception. The community is invited to the event at Maceli’s, 1031 New Hampshire St. Cards may be sent to Bellome at 200 Maine Street, Suite C, Lawrence 66044.

Bellome served as CEO at Visiting Nurses for seven years. She’s worked 46 years in the healthcare, half of those years in community health and hospice.

• Jeff Sigler became the new chairman of the Kansas Independent Pharmacy Service Corporation last month. Sigler owns Sigler Pharmacy, 4525 W. Sixth St., and co-owns Sigler Pharmacy at Lawrence Family Practice Center, 4951 W. 18th St.

• Keith Steiner, Lawrence, was elected to remain the 2013 Master Contractor by Conklin Company Inc. This is Steiner’s 10th year holding the title. He was one of 61 Conklin Contractors who earned the title and a trip to Marco Island, Fla. The Conklin Company’s Master Contractor Program recognizes Conklin roofing contractors who have met milestones in their roofing businesses.

• Nomi Redding, a licensed clinical social worker, will retire Jan. 18 from the private practice of clinical social work/psychotherapy. Redding, a Lawrence High School and Kansas University graduate, opened her full-time private practice in 1982. She plans to continue teaching meditation classes in the community and consult with local groups about the place of meditation in their wellness programs. She will also be writing the results of a 20-year longitudinal study of midlife women’s health.
