Indiana man arrested in Douglas County indicted on federal child porn charges

A 35-year-old Fort Wayne, Ind., man has been indicted on federal child porn charges, accused of using the Internet to exploit a Douglas County girl.

The man was previously charged in Douglas County County court after his Feb. 4 arrest, but now faces federal charges including three counts of producing child pornography and three counts of enticing a minor to engage in unlawful sexual activity, according to an announcement Wednesday by Kansas U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom. Federal prosecutors accuse the man of enticing the girl to send him photos of herself engaged in sexual activities between February and April of 2012.

The man remains in Douglas County Jail with bond set at $175,000.

Each count of producing child pornography carries a possible sentence of 15 to 30 years in prison and each count of enticing a minor carries a minimum sentence of 10 years. All of the crimes can carry fines of up to $250,000.
