City sets March bid date for Farmland business park construction project

Lawrence city commissioners on Tuesday set a bid date of March 12 for about $10 million worth of infrastructure work to begin at the former Farmland Industries fertilizer plant in eastern Lawrence.

The city is working to turn the 400-plus acre property into a business park.

Work slated for the construction project includes building a new road to connect the Farmland property with the adjacent East Hills Business Park, and installation of sewer and water lines to serve the site.
