Letter: Political policy
To the editor:
I agree with Sunday’s editorial about current Kansas University policy on social media, which the author titles “Curbing speech.”
I would, however, like to note that the KU Policy on the use of social media seems to be a compromise between free speech and the demands made on the university by right-wing Kansas politicians, who can influence decisions on its budget.
It would be best to separate politics from funding KU and base the latter on its achievements. Unfortunately, however, we haven’t reached that stage as yet.
