Letter: Leave it alone

To the editor:

On the porch couch ordinance, Lawrence is already referred to as “snob hill” by many. This kind of thing just reinforces that view. I wish the city would leave it alone.

The couch on the front porch is simply one pimple showing on the face of the student ghetto. If the city would enforce current code and ordinances - the pimples, I mean couches, would not be an issue.

Enforce the current ordinance. What is the point of making new laws if you are not going to enforce them?

They just made the law cheaper to enforce.

why ban fireworks and let folks shoot them?

Lip service works apparently. No matter that it stresses out the LPD and Fire Department.

So you really think fireworks stresses out the cops and the firemen? What about when they face a bank robber or a chemical fire?

I hope we have better cops and firemen than you seem to think we do.

Whatever will residents do with their lovely Wicker outdoor furniture? Not allowed on the porch, patio or deck.

Outdoor furniture will still be allowed outdoors, as I understand it.

Will it be allowed indoors?

Funny question :-)

I don't know of any restrictions on indoor furniture - do you?
