Free State’s Jackie Zaitz finished first in all-around, vault, uneven parallel bars, balance beam and floor exercise, and the Firebirds won the Free State Invitational girls gymnastics meet Saturday at FSHS.
The Firebirds totaled 100.75 points, followed by Lawrence High (94.6), Newton (86.05) and Emporia (79.55).
Free State’s Grace Bartle and Carrie Howland placed 2-3 in all-around, and Lawrence High’s Jessie Abernathy and Allison Williams placed 4-5.
